Free radicals are atoms with unpaired electrons. The Free Radical Theory states that free radicals damage cells which leads to aging. When oxygen is burned or metabolized by the body’s cells, free radicals are produced.
Free radicals can disturb cellular structure resulting in cell damage to protein, fat, and DNA molecules.
